Friends of Bremen Public Library will host a Murder Mystery Dinner entitled “Murder at Poe’s Raven Party” at the library at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Once registered, participants will receive an invitation to attend a Gothic dinner party at the mansion of Eddie Poe. Along with their official invitation, each guest will receive a unique character assignment with details about what to wear and what to bring to the party.
Following is the premise of the evening:
“You have received an invitation to a raven party at the Poe Mansion in the gloomy crime-ridden city of Wraith’s Cove. The town gossips are chattering about the disreputable people on Eddie Poe’s guest list. What could Eddie be thinking? Could it be that Eddie has finally gone mad? It appears that at least the Poe Mansion is in dire need of assistance. Ever since Eddie’s housekeeper quit, the estate is in shambles. Nevertheless, you are intrigued by the thought of a Gothic dinner party held in honor of fiendish bird — even if this sordid group of ruffians may cause chaos. Chaos can be fun sometimes, right? This is where your story begins.”
Cost is $25 per person, which includes dinner, dessert and a unique character assignment. Friends of the Library members will be admitted for a discounted rate of $20.
Register at the Adult Desk of the Library. Deadline is Friday, Sept. 28 and payment is due at time of registration. Participants will receive an invitation, character assignment and all needed information two weeks prior to the event.
