MIller's_Viola by autumn Aug 2018 Joan Troup FrontMiller’s Assisted Living Facility will be losing one of its faithful volunteers this week as 2018 PHS graduate Autumn Wilson heads off to Terre Haute for her first year of college.  She will be a Freshman at St. Mary of the Woods College where she will begin her studies in Music Therapy.  Autumn plays viola in the PHS Orchestra and also percussion in the PHS Marching Band.

Autumn has volunteered at Miller’s since the age of seven when she came with her mother and sister to visit her great-grandmother, Edythe Wilson.  Autumn has been an exceptional student, graduated in the top ten of her class and still was able to find time to visit with residents at Miller’s and to help with special events and activities.

As one of her last kindnesses to the residents, Autumn performed a viola concert for her friends.  Between her selections Autumn told about her instrument of choice, the viola and also discussed the pieces of music she chose and why they mean so much to her.  She also promised that she would come back and visit on her holidays at home from college.

Autumn will be missed at Miller’s but the residents and staff are very happy to see her continuing her education and developing her musical skills.  Miller’s residents and staff wish her well in this next adventure of her life.
