PSW_Arctic Cat SprintsFireworks capped off an exciting two days of racing at Plymouth Speedway Friday and SaturdayFriday evening the Artic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars ran a 41 lap feature. The original 35 lap feature was expanded to 41 to honor the late Jason Johnson who succumbed to a racing accident this previous week.
Former NASCAR racers Tony Stewart and Dave Blaney were both on hand to race with the series.
But it was Aaron Reutzel who ran away with the victory leading all 41 laps from the pole. Reutzel was second quick in qualifying with a 11.593 second lap. He went on to finish third in his heat and won the dash, putting him on the pole for the feature.
Finishing second to Reutzel was Jac Haudenshild, and third was Carson Macedo in the 3G out of Rochester, Ind.
Also on the bill Friday night were the very competitive Plymouth Speedway Super Streets.
PSW_Arctic Cat winner2018Ron Wilkes picked up another feature win Friday evening coming from his sixth place starting spot to collect the checkered flag. John Rhoads in the 20X returned to the podium starting from the pole and finishing second. Finishing third was Josh Elliott in his return to racing this year.
Saturday evening the 600 mini sprints had the night off and in their place was four cylinder, front wheel drive Cyber Stock. 12 cars took the green flag in the feature with Josh Gamblin getting the win from a fifth place starting spot. Jake Straka finished second  and Ryan Picker was third.
The Modified feature was won by Derek Losh, who is the points leader with this his seventh feature win. Losh started in fourth was able to chase down the leader Matt Mitchell after a hand full of laps. As lapped traffic started to become an issue Mitchell, Josh Allen and Dylan Woodling all got to the third turn together with Mitchell and Allen spinning and being sent to the tail of the field. Woodling would hold on for secound and Todd Sherman would finish third.
The Pro Sprints feature would preview the fireworks that would wrap up the evening with a few fireworks of their own. Eli Lakin would start on the pole and go on to lead 17 of the 20 laps only to end up third while Eric Saunders would race his brother Garrett Saunders hard for several laps trading slide jobs back and forth and catching Lakin. Then on lap 17 Garrett getting past Eric on a slider tagged Lakin in the rear bumper to send him around.
With only a green, white, checker flag restart remaining the line up got contentious with Eric Saunders starting at the front, John Gurley in second and Jeffery DeVault in third with Lakin and Garrett Saunders in fourth and fifth. Tyler Fitzpatrick was retired because of the two spin rule.
PSW_600Garrett Saunders charged forward on the restart and was up to Gurley fighting for second when he spun on the final lap was able to keep the car running allowing the race to finish with Eric Saunders collecting the win, Gurley in second and Lakin recovering to finish third.
Bryan Banta finished on top of the Thunder Stocks podium with some help of the chrome horn. Banta followed Wally Kerst for several laps looking for a chance to pass for the lead only to have the door shut on him as he would put a fender between Kerst and the infield. Banta got into the left rear quarter panel of Kerst to upset him and Banta went on past and stretched out the gap to win. Banta was first, Kerst finished in secound and Kevin Kerlin finished in third.
The second Super Street feature of the weekend was won by Matt Koval, with Bob McLean in second and Rusty Pleasand in third.
