Kosciusko Community Hospital provided a mini health fair for the students at Triton Elementary School on Monday, October 30th. It was like a healthy “Trick-or-Treat”.
Hospital staff provided pencils, baggies, and mini first-aid kits for the students. Additionally, they brought frozen fruit for the students that was handed to them at the nutrition booth.
A local dental hygienist gave a presentation on proper brushing/flossing techniques and provided the students with a tooth brush, toothpaste, and floss when they stopped by her booth.
The ‘surgical” center showed the students how a computer helps guide surgical procedures as “gummy worms” were removed from the “patient”.
A violet light at the hand washing station showed students how many “germs” can be on their hands and taught them why hand washing is so important.
It was very informative for the students. This is an activity sponsored by the partnership between KCH and Triton Schools.
