CULVER – Plymouth’s boys cross country team took a third at the CMA regional on Saturday which gives them a team birth in the semi-state at New Prairie on Saturday.
In addition girls runner Ella Hissong earned an individual spot in the semi-state round with a top 25 finish and a time of 21:36.
The boys were led by Jeff Oliver’s eighth place time of 17:20. The Pilgrims team total of 87 points was just shy of CMA’s 82 in second place. Warsaw had four of the top 10 finishers for a team score of 32 and the regional title.
Both Culver Academy cross country teams will advance to the semi-state the boys taking a second place finish and the girls a fifth place.
The boys were led by a fourth place finish from Shane Pursch with a time of 16:59. The girls top finisher was Marissa Rivera with a fifth place 20:11.
Saturday’s semi-state will start at 10 a.m. on one of the tougher courses in northern Indiana at New Prairie High School.
