Lincoln eighth wins at Knox
KNOX – Lincoln’s eighth grade volleyball team traveled to Knox Thursday night and came away with 2 big wins.
The Red Storm won the A game by a score of 25-21, 25-9.
Tough serving was a key for Lincoln with Sara Hunter 12 for 13 with six aces, Corinne Rhodes 10 for 11 with seven aces and Maddy Figg six for eight with four aces leading the way.
Olivia Newcomb was a perfect five for five with two aces. Maddy Figg had another dominating effort at the net with 10 kills all set up by Clare Sheedy’s 10 assists. Sheedy and Hunter also contributed three kills each. The passing game was led by Figg, Newcomb and Rhodes who were all very consistent throughout the match. The win brings LJH to 6-5 on the season.
In the B game, Lincoln won by a score of 25-15, 25-18. Serving was also the key in this game with several girls stepping up. Hannah Friberg eight for eight with two aces), Halie Roney five for five with two aces and Leah Tanner five for five with two aces were all perfect serving in the match. Erin Liedtky seven for eight with six aces and Maddy Voreis seven for 10 with six aces also contributed key serves.
