Boys, girls team open strong

PLYMOUTH — Lincoln Junior High has had a strong and busy opening season. On Thursday, the boys and girls traveled to Wawasee to face conference opponents. The whole team ran a very fast meet with every athlete earning a best time. Scoring for the boys team was Colin Chupp (11:18), Nolan Bales (11:25), Trey Hall (11:30), Davis Wray (12:01),  and Tanner Feece (12:04). Even though our boys team ran fast, Wawasee ended up with a victory. The final score was Wawasee with 27, Lincoln with 28. Scoring on the girls side was Brighton Bird (13:03), Summer South (13:28), Aumrie Weiss (13:30), Brooke Edison (13:34), and Lena Jones (13:40). The girls team ended up earning a victory. The final score was Wawasee with 29, Lincoln with 26.

Saturday, the teams traveled to Warsaw to participate in the first-ever Warsaw Tigers Invitational. Thirteen teams were represented at the meet so there was a lot of strong competition. Earning a top 30 ribbon in boys varsity was Collin Chupp (17th/11:31) and Nolan Bales (30th/11:45). Earning a top 30 finish for boys JV was Brian Vegso (14th/12:22). Even though many runners had a lot of best times on Thursday, Plymouth still had 18 best times on Saturday. 

Monday, the teams traveled to Bremen to have a three-way meet with Bremen and Lakeview. Almost every single runner earned a best time again. Everyone ran extremely fast. Scoring for the boys team was Colin Chupp (10:57), Nolan Bales (11:19), Trey Hall (11:27), David Schadek (11:45) and Tanner Feece (11:52). The final score was Bremen: 76, Lakeview: 52, and Lincoln 24. Scoring for the girls team was Brighton Bird ( 13:01), Aumrie Weiss (13:01.8), Summer South (13:22), Amaya Ameling (14:00) and Addison Kingston (14:03).

Lincoln will be back in action at its first home meet at Centennial Park Thursday when the teams take on Tippy Valley at 5 p.m.Tennis
