Lincoln splits at Edgewood
WARSAW – Lincoln’s eighth grade volleyball team went 2-2 Saturday at the Warsaw Edgewood
Invitational.
In pool play LJHS loss to Discovery (Penn) 22-25, 17-25, beat Wawasee 25-21, 25-21, and lost to Maple Creek (Ft. Wayne) 21-25, 25-19, 14-15.
In the cross over portion of the tournament, the Red Storm beat Wabash 25-12, 25-12 to finish off the day.
Clare Sheedy led the offense with 29 setting assists on the day and nine ace serves. Maddy Figg had a strong day with 21 kills and four blocks. Chloe Holten contributed 9 kills and four blocks on the day. Corinne Rhodes led the team in passing and defense in the four game tourney.
Sara Hunter (3 aces) and Olivia Newcomb (5 aces) played solid all-around games for the Red Storm, both racking up a number of great passes to set up the offense.
Lincoln (2-3) will be back in action this week on Tuesday at New Prairie and Wednesday at LaVille.
