WARSAW – Ancilla Men’s and Women’s golf team competed in Warsaw against Grace College at Stonehenge Golf Club.
This is a traditional Duel Match where the two schools compete for the illustrious U.S. 30 Cup. The match is a 9-Hole competition against Grace, and then a mixed-gender alternate shot format.
The Ancilla Men defeated the Grace men 190-206. The Chargers also had the Medalist with Plymouth High School graduate Micah Calhoun firing am impressive 33. Ancilla also had the Runner-Up medalist Elliott Husiar who shot 38.
In the women’s competition the Chargers lost to Grace 207-252. Ancilla was led by Megan LaFontaine shooting a 45. Ancilla’s Makayla Weber shot a 48.
In the mixed gender alternate shot format, the Chargers lost 208-215 allowing Grace College to retain the U.S. 30 Cup.
Coach Marc Green was very pleased with everyone’s effort.
“Special mention has to go to Hunter Price who shot a 40 and played really well. I was very happy for him and his hard work paying off,” said Green. “The men obviously played well, and I am very excited for the rest of the fall and spring. The women played well and are getting better every day in practice, and that will definitely pay off down the road.”
