Cunningham, a pitcher and utility player, enters her fourth year on varsity this season, her second season as captain for the Senators. In 2014 she set the school record for victories and received the Senator Award after last season. As a soccer player, where she also earned four varsity letters, she was named the Most Improved Player in 2013. In 2015 Cunningham was named to the All-Porter County Conference team, received the Senator Award, and participated as an Indiana Elite All-Star.

“What made Ancilla the right choice for me was the small school atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the softball program,” said Cunningham. “It’s the perfect college and what I’ve been looking for. I can’t wait to start my journey at Ancilla.”

“Kelby has matured into a solid student and softball player over the last couple of years,” said softball coach and father Ryan Cunningham. “She’s versatile and can play multiple positions for us at Washington Township.”

“Kelby is a fantastic young lady who will fit right into our program,” began Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “She has many tools that will be an asset for us, most of all her versatility. I am excited that Kelby has decided to join the Ancilla softball family.”

Kelby is the daughter of Ryan and Erica Cunningham of Valparaiso and plans on majoring in Nursing while at Ancilla.
