DONALDSON, IN – Ancilla College’s women’s basketball team beat conference rivals Jackson College on Monday night, 82-60. This ups the Charger’s record to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Conference.

Ancilla saw themselves down by five at the end of the first quarter but were able to close the gap and pull ahead to end the first half of the game with a ten point lead. The Chargers returned from the locker room to wrap up the game with a win by 22 points.

“I was proud of the grit and determination we showed tonight. For most of this game, it was a possession by possession battle and we had a number of players who did some really good things,” commented head coach Tom Robbins. “Hannah Stolte had a particularly good game in a lot of different areas. She was the first one to really get the scoring going for us, she was relentless on the defensive end, and she fought hard on the boards.”

Ancilla will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Michigan to play Lansing Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30p.m. The team will return home on Saturday, January 30th to take on conference foes Lake Michigan College. Game time is set for 5:30p.m.
