PlymouthSpeedwayLogoThis morning Great American Racing Series officials made the difficult decision to postpone the August 29th running of the Down-n-Dirty 125 at Plymouth Speedway due to a chance of rain.

“Our officials decided it was in the best interest of the series to postpone the event,” said Circle Track General Manager Rob Fisher. “Our goal is to put on a first class race for racers and fans alike and many G.A.R.S. competitors travel from as far away as Iowa, South Carolina and Canada. With a threat of rain looming we didn’t want to force our racers to incur travel expenses if they couldn’t race. As such, we will work with our friends at Plymouth Speedway to identify a suitable make-up date for the race.”

That make-up date will be announced in the near future and posted on www.ctgars.com

Although the G.A.R.S racing cancelled, there will be racing at Plymouth Speedway on Saturday night.

Irish Saunders from Plymouth Speedway said, “We owe it to our drivers, owners and fans to have a racing program on Saturdays.”  He commented, “Although G.A.R.S. backed out of their lease with the track, we will race!”

There will be three classes running or extra pay and extra laps on Saturday night.  The UMP Modifieds will run for $700 to win in a 30 lap feature while the Super Street division will pay $500 to win in a 25 lap, “run what you bring” feature and the Thunder Stocks will pay $300 to win in a 20 lap feature.

General admission will be $12 for adults, $5 for kids 6 to 12 and FREE for kids 5 and under.  Pit admission is $30.
