11088853_591221144313915_3341653486355724866_nLANSING – A sluggish game one led to an offensive explosion in game two as Ancilla’s Chargers split a road doubleheader with MCCAA foe Lansing Community College falling in game one by a 6-3 score and winning game two 11-6.

 

Clayton Adamson (Tippecanoe Valley High School) took a loss in game one and could manage just six hits and also made four errors. Kainen Lewis (Louisville Male High School) had a pair of hits a double and a home run along with two RBI’s in game one. Alex Nelson (Indianapolis Ben Davis High School) also doubled and scored in game one.

 

The Chargers exploded for 12 hits in game two, breaking the game open with a five run fifth. Damon Prater (Kokomo High School) came on in relief of starter Dalton Clark (Rockville High School) and tossed three innings of scoreless relief striking out four to get the win.

 

Nelson continued his red hot week at the plate adding four for four in game two with a pair of doubles, three RBI’s and three runs scored. Evan Vangordan (Blackford High School) had a pair of hits and four RBI’s in the Charger attack. Luke Gaboury (Mishawaka Marian High School) had a pair of hits and Jason Ferguson (Warsaw High School) added a pair of RBI’s in game two.

 

The Chargers (9-17, 6-10) will take on Mott Community College in a home doubleheader on Saturday.
