DENVER, IN – North Miami High School senior Alex Grant recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to play softball at Ancilla College.
Grant, a three year letter winner for the Warrior softball program, was named to the All-Three Rivers Conference First Team last year during the North Miami’s State Championship season. On the diamond, she is most comfortable in centerfield and at third base. Off the diamond, Grant has also earned three varsity letters with the basketball team while being a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, as well as the Drama and Art Departments.
“Ancilla was a simple choice,” said Grant. “It was small and close to home. That’s what I was looking for.”
“Alex will help us in a lot of areas,” began Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “She will shore up our outfield while adding some quickness to our lineup. Offensively I see her assisting our needs as an ‘on base’ threat. Her enthusiasm for the game has been evident in every contact I have had with her, as well. I am excited that Alex has decided to join the Ancilla softball family.”
Alex is the daughter of David and Jodi Grant of Denver and plans on studying in the Criminal Justice department while at Ancilla.
