The 7th grade Red Storm basketball team had a great weekend winning the Northwood Shootout on Saturday. In the first game, the Red Storm showed great toughness coming back from 6 down in the 4th to defeat a good Northwood team 58-55. Cam Dennie led the way for the Red Storm with 20 points, Cole Filson had 13, and Clay Hilliard chipped in 12. Bryce Carmichael led the team in rebounds with 5 and had 3 steals to set the tone defensively. Larry Dragani and Evan Zigler pitched in a great effort defensively putting relentless pressure on the ball all game long. In the championship game, the 7th grade Red Storm defeated Lakeview 45-33. Clay Hilliard led the way for the Red Storm with 17 points and 3 rebounds, Cole Filson chipped in 14 and 6 rebounds, and Cam Dennie contributed 10 and 5 rebounds. Blake Reed and Donnie Hilty contributed great minutes defensively and helped seal the win for the Red Storm. The 7th grade Red Storm are back in action Monday at Wawasee and Tuesday at Urey.
