09/16/13 At the Plymouth High School boys’ tennis match Wednesday night at Bremen, PHS Coach Michael Delp and the Bremen coach organized a Smash Out Cancer night.

Before the match members from both teams put on a different colored t-shirt, representing a different kind of cancer that took the life of a loved one.  Every player also went up to the net, hit an overhead smash, and announced the name of their loved one that passed away from that particular cancer.  During the beginning ceremony, a Bremen student who had survived brain cancer was also honored along with anyone in the audience who is fighting cancer at this time.

Coach Delp got this idea from the IHSTeCA which is sponsoring Smash Out Cancer throughout Indiana.

Coach Delp did a great job with the help from Kelsey Flynn, Jennifer Felke, Bremen’s coach and team, his assistant coaches and managers  They have raised about $2,000.00 just by selling the cancer t-shirts.
