03/09/13 The PHS Swimming and Diving Teams finished the first  “on the road” season with their awards banquet last night.  Coach Leanne Senter thanked the athletes, parents, and coaches for all of their time, energy, support and hard work this year.  She also thanked Coach Todd Briles and Oregon Davis for “sharing their pool with us” , giving our athletes the opportunity to keep the program going.  The team’s motto this swim season was “The Courage and Conviction to Carry On” and 21 women and men completed the task!
 
Jennifer and Joe Martin were also recognized for their support of the programs over the past 4 years.  Award winners this season were:
Most Improved – Mariah Tepper and Chris Whitley;
Rookie of the Year – Katie Berg and CC Bastardo;
Coaches Award – Megan Senter and Jake Martin;
Most Valuable – Layne Holloway and Brandon Brashere.
 
Megan Senter and Brandon Brashere were also recognized as All-Conference Honorable Mention and for setting new Plymouth Aquatics Club records this last weekend at the NW Divisional Championship meet.  Senter set a new record in the 1650 free and Brashere’s record is in the 200 breaststroke.
 
 Memories were shared by Layne Holloway and Lauren Page with the Paper Plate Awards and the Seniors thanked everyone for “sticking with the team” and encouraged them to “carry on” and “just keep swimming”!
