08/17/11 Sheriff Tom Chamberlin released the July Activity Report for the Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall County Jail.
A total of 222 people were arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail. The top 10 reasons for being booked into the Marshall County Jail was Failure to Appear, Operating While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended, Public Intoxication, Operator Never Licensed, Battery, Civil Contempt, Theft, Possession of Marijuana, and Probation Violations.
The Bourbon Police Department arrested 4 last month, 2 males and 2 females. The Argos Police Department arrested 7 during July, 5 males and 2 females. The Culver Police Department also arrested 7, 6 males and 1 female. Troopers with the Indiana State Police took 14 people to the County Jail, 11 males and 3 females. Officers from Bremen had a total of 21 arrests, 15 males, and 6 females. Plymouth officers arrested 60 males and 19 females for a total of 79 while the Sheriff’s Department arrested 90, 66 males and 24 females.
Officers with the Sheriff’s Department investigated 48 accidents in July, 36 property damage and 12 involving injuries. Deputies submitted 144 case reports and 44 citations while 617 civil process papers were served.
The Marshall County 9-1-1 Center answered 1397 calls in the month of July 894 were for police; Argos had 45, Bourbon 40, Bremen 49, Culver 54, Marshall County 401 and Plymouth Police 256. Fire responded to 144 of the 9-1-1 calls; Argos Fire 10 times, Bourbon Fire 9 times, Bremen Fire 5, Culver Fire 6, LaPaz Fire 35, Plymouth Fire 33, Polk Township Fire 26 calls and Tippecanoe Fire 4 times.
Various EMS departments responded to 282 of the 9-1-1 calls in July; Argos EMS 22, Bourbon EMS 22, Bremen EMS 26, Culver EMS 35, LaPaz EMS 32, Plymouth EMS 134 and Walkerton EMS 8.
Marshall County also answered 1304 calls for service on non-emergency lines. Those calls were divide to 1081 calls for police, 100 calls for EMS and 51 calls for Fire.
Last month Marshall County Deputies self-initiated 612 calls including traffic stops, assisting motorists, removing debris from roadways and more.
