09/23/13 This week the sounds of college fight songs will be heard throughout the halls of Argos Schools.  Argos is joining a statewide initiative to help Hoosiers of all ages PLAN for college completion and career success.

To set the stage for this important week, the entire K-12 staff at Argos was asked to answer a short moodle survey:  Where did you go to college or where did you get training?, Where did any of you close family members go to college or get training? What degree, certificate or license did you earn?  What advice would you share about college or training?

During the week, students will learn more about the Argos staff’s experiences from signs and displays sharing the survey results as well as participate in competitions to win prizes donated by area colleges.  Show Your College Colors Day, Wear Your Career Glam Day, Be Your Favorite College Mascot Day and Show Your School Spirit Day will be featured on different days of the week with prizes given to the Activity Periods with best participation.   Guidance Counselors Rich Stauffer and Judy Delp will be visiting many classrooms to share age/grade appropriate activities.  All of the activities are designed to help students dream, understand more about themselves and the steps needed to shape their future.  Teachers and support staff will also be key to this week as they will use their own experiences as well as those of their families to spark meaningful discussions.

Studies clearly indicate that college and training beyond high school help lay a foundation of security and happiness for individuals.  Argos Schools is delighted to be part of College Go Week and help Argos students take an important step toward that goal.
