On Saturday, January 21st, Officer Vison with the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to Serenity Place on West Jefferson for a Protection order violation / Trespassing issue.

During the investigation, it was determined that 46-year-old Heather Havens of Walkerton was the person in violation of the orders. A short time later, her vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Michigan and Madison Streets.

During the traffic stop, Officer Vison was assisted by Officer Baker and K9 Castor. Upon further investigation after a positive K9 indication, Havens was arrested and Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia.  She was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
