On Wednesday, May 6th Officers with the Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team conducted an operation in Lapaz with the assistance of the Marshall County Police Department and the Indiana State Police. During the operation 25 year old, Alexander Campbell of South Bend was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for charges of Dealing in a Narcotic Drug Level 2 Felony and Dealing in a Look-a-like Substance Level 6 Felony. He was held on a $25,000 bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
