06/24/11 County police officers and emergency responders from LaPaz/North Township Fire and EMS were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on North Michigan Road north of 7th Road Thursday morning at 7:38.
County Officer Joe Giordano was the investigating officer and reported that a 2004 Infiniti driven by 19 year old Joshua Walters of Elkhart was south bound on Michigan Road and crossed the center line. He collided with a pick-up truck pulling a trailer owned by Grand Rental Station. The pick-up was driven by 40 year old Jason Sheppard of Plymouth.
After impact Sheppard’s pick-up truck came unhitched from the trailer and rolled several times coming to rest on the east side of Michigan Road against the field fence. Sheppard and a passenger in the pick-up, Alvaro Dorantes Jr. were transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth where they were treated and released for minor injuries.
