SONY DSCPLYMOUTH – Ground was broken Tuesday afternoon for the new Marshall County Boys & Girls Club in Plymouth. With demolition complete work has begun on the new facility that will enable the club to expand and improve progamming to benefit area kids.

“We have a vision for families,” said Billie Treber, Executive Director of th Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County. “It’s a vision where our kids are in one place and safe, a benefit to our kids and families.”

President of the club’s board of Directors Art Jacobs spoke of a vision as well.

“We would not be here without the vision of the Isban’s (founders of the club),” he said. “This vision all stems from them. As we move forward I think we need to keep in mind what their vision was and what they would want as we continue forward.”

Both Treber and Jacobs thanked the community and donors in particular for their generosity in financially making the addition possible.

The club did receive a RAND grant in conjunction with Lowe’s of $50,000. The grant is directed toward two special rooms in the new facility that need to be completed by January. Treber said they hope to be moved into the new facility in January of 2018.
