In November the Marshall County Commissioners approved the 2017 contract for Sheriff Matt Hassel. On Monday the Marshall County Council unanimously also put their stamp of approval on the sheriff’s contract. The salary nest year for the sheriff will be $85,506. The contract is exactly the same as this year’s except for the salary increase.
In other business, county council members re-appointed Mark Wickizer to be their representative to the Board of Zoning Appeals. He will be on the board for another 4-year term.
The council also re-appointed Maria Keller to a 1 year term on the Marshall County Alcohol Beverage Commission.
Councilmember Steve Harper was honored by Council President Judy Stone for his service to county government. Harper is completing his 4th year as a County Council member, he previous served 14 years on the Marshall County Election Board from 1998 to 2012.
