The band at Lincoln Junior High has again earned the Indiana State School Music Association Junior/Middle/Elementary All-Music Award. This award is given to groups who have achieved excellence in solo, small ensemble, jazz, and concert ensemble performances. Twenty-six middle level bands across the state earned the award this year.
Lincoln has earned the award both years it has been in existence. Many solo performances met the requirement this year and the snare trio made up of Hailey Casper, Matthew Gerard, and Cameron Riddle also earned a gold rating in the small ensemble category. The Lincoln Jazz Band earned a gold rating in a more challenging group level than last year that also assessed improvised solos.
Finally, the intermediate and advanced bands performed together to earn a gold rating from all three judges. This award truly has been earned through the efforts of every student in the band department.
