Plymouth Color Logo2014Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon was given the green light to purchase three new vehicles from Oliver Ford during Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

Three weeks ago quotes were opened for the patrol vehicles.  Oliver Ford in Plymouth quoted $68,342 while Knox Ford quoted $65,425.  The Chief said the quote from Knox Ford failed to include three options he has requested; remote start, heated side mirrors and inoperable rear doors.

The Board of Public Works approved awarded the purchase to Oliver Ford.  The police department will also be trading in three vehicles with the contract.

Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson received a favorable nod to silicate quotes for two ½ ton pick-up trucks, one for the water department and one for waste water.

Davidson noted that the two vehicles are in the 2016 budget and he will be trading in two pick-ups.
