Heartland Gallery logoKathleen Wolfe is the featured Artist at Heartland Artists Gallery in July. Kathleen is from Middlebury, Indiana, and is a self-taught artist working primarily in pastels and oils. Kathleen has always had a love for the landscape and the beauty that God has laid before us. As a result, her work centers around the glorious flowers found in her garden as well as ponds, creeks and marshes found during her travels. She particularly enjoys painting water and the many shadows and reflections on the water’s surface.

Kathleen was raised on a farm near Lake Wawasee in Indiana, and spent many hours as a child drawing and painting. She was very active in art pursuits during high school, and learned oil painting while taking classes at the Elkhart Art League during the 1980’s. While raising her family, she gave up painting entirely until her retirement as a legal secretary in 2010. At that time she began painting full time, and since has received a number of commissions and won numerous awards. Having only recently discovered a passion for pastels, she now finds pleasure in the pure, brilliant pigment that pastels offer and has totally immersed herself in the depiction of God’s handiwork by using pastel on sanded paper.

Join us Friday, July 10th from 5:30-8:00 pm at Meet the Artist – Open House for Kathleen Wolfe at the Heartland Artist Gallery in downtown Plymouth.
