LeAnne J. Milliser, 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Born on March 30, 1937 in Plymouth, Indiana she was the daughter of Verian J. and Loretto (Lee) Miller. She attended LaPaz High School graduating with the class of 1955. LeAnne would go on to college at Indiana University and receiving her Master’s Degree in education. She taught the first grade for 25 years at Granger Christian School before retiring.
On November 30, 1958 LeAnne married Robert L. Milliser at Shiloh Wesleyan Church in Bremen. They grew up together from first grade through graduation, but didn’t start dating until their Junior year of High School. They shared 63 wonderful years of marriage together. Robert preceded LeAnne in death on June 24, 2022.
LeAnne and Bob went into the antique business together, building, restoring, repairing and selling. They both loved to travel and made it to all 50 states and few countries such as Canada, Mexico, Israel and Turkey.
She also made sure that her family was always well taken care of with her love of cooking, sewing and canning. In summertime, you would find her well attended garden, freezing and canning whatever came up. An amazing seamstress and a woman that was very involved in her earlier years in 4-H in Marshall County, she received multiple Grand Champion awards and was even a delegate to the State Fair. LeAnne loved to sing in the high school choir as well as the church choir. She was a member of the International Carnival Glass Association.
She is survived by her daughters: Anne (Roger) Pierce of South Bend; Kay Beam of New Paris, IN; Joy Jacquez of Goshen; sister, Linda Fine of West Monoroe, LA; brother-in-law John Milliser of Plymouth; Grandchildren: Alex (Courtney) Pierce of South Bend; Jared Pierce of South Bend; Sabrina Pierce of South Bend; Adam (Crysten) Beam of Phoenix, AZ; Zachary (Hayley) Beam of Winston-Salem, NC; Tiffany (Caleb) Bourland of Bentonville, AR; Ashley (Scott) Ostrander of Niles, MI; Tyler Manges of Pueblo, CO; Mercedez Manges of Pueblo, CO; and 6 great-grandchildren.
LeAnne is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 6:00-6:30 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Chaplain Mark Black officiating.
A private burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
