Deloris L. Pippenger, 99 of Walkerton, Indiana passed away peacefully at 3:45 am Friday, June 16, 2023, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton.
On August 21, 1923, she was born in Walkerton to Melvin G. and Minnie P. (Johnson) Roush. A lifetime resident of the Walkerton area, she graduated from North Liberty High School, Class of 1941. She was united in marriage to Dwight C. Pippenger on February 16, 1947, in Argos, Indiana. He preceded her on November 23, 1998.
Deloris was a member and a deacon at Blissville Church of the Brethren, Plymouth. She also played First Base for the South Bend Blue Sox in the 1940’s.
She worked for Wells Aluminum, North Liberty, Indiana for twelve years, retiring in 1988. She also helped her husband on the farm. She enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers, paper embroidering and making cards for Operation Quiet Comfort, making 100’s of cards over the years.
Deloris is survived by her son, Richard (Diana) Pippenger, Walkerton; two grandsons, Todd A. Hall, Etna Green, and Jason M. (Jennifer) Pippenger, Pendleton. She is also survived by two great granddaughters, Norah and Lucy Pippenger. She is also preceded by her parents, four brothers, Harold, Howard, Roy and Kenneth Roush and her sister, Evelyn Yeagley.
Visitation hours will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Shellie Jankowski officiating. Burial will follow at Tyner Cemetery, Tyner.
