Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims stayed in it until the end, but NorthWood JV Panthers pulled away late in a 12-11 victory on Friday.  The game was tied at ten with NorthWood JV Panthers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Brody Wise singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Despite the loss, Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, NorthWood JV Panthers had eight hits on the way to victory.

Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims opened up scoring in the first inning, when Michael Gibbons doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

After Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims scored one run in the top of the sixth, NorthWood JV Panthers answered with one of their own.  NorthWood JV Panthers then answered when Ryan Birk singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims put up six runs in the fourth inning.  Tre Jordan, Cooper Grolich, Gibbons, Owen Walleske, and Aiden Sauer powered the big inning with RBIs.

NorthWood JV Panthers scored four runs in the fourth inning.  The offensive firepower by NorthWood JV Panthers was led by Kaysen Leiter, Birk, and Roman Yoder, all driving in runs in the inning.

Shawn Miller earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for NorthWood JV Panthers. The fireballer went one inning, allowing six runs on four hits.  Leiter threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jordan took the loss for Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims. The righthander allowed one hit and one run over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one.

Nick Manzuk started the game for Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims. The righty lasted two innings, allowing one hit and one run Ty Stankovich started the game for NorthWood JV Panthers. The bulldog surrendered four runs on three hits over three innings, striking out four

Gibbons went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims in hits.

NorthWood JV Panthers collected eight hits on the day.  Birk and Stankovich all collected multiple hits for NorthWood JV Panthers.  Birk led NorthWood JV Panthers with three hits in four at bats.
