Marshall County Sheriff Matthew Hassel announced that the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has raised money for Ounce of Prevention and promoted awareness of breast cancer by selling t-shirts. Ounce of Prevention is a not-for-profit organization that was created to increase awareness and provide support to those fighting cancer.  The funds raised by OOP are kept here in the Marshall County community. Their mission statement states, “our mission is to unify the small efforts of many to create a greater impact to assist those diagnosed with and affected by cancer in Marshall County, Indiana”.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has participated in this fundraiser and increased awareness campaign for several years. Sheriff Hassel said, “Thanks to the generosity of our community and the hard work of our employees, we have once again raised over $1000.”

A presentation of the funds raised will be made to Jennifer Houin with Ounce of Prevention on Tuesday, December 20th at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
