The Marshall County Drainage Board awarded a bid for a maintenance project on the Stock Heston Ditch in German Township. 

The maintenance project begins 700 feet south of 1st Road and proceeds upstream 8,800 feet to the south side of Tyler Road. The project includes cleaning out the ditch to the original bottom.  They will debrush to the cultivated line and re-established access along the work side of the ditch.  On the ditch bank opposite the work side, they will debrush side slopes to the top of the bank. The project includes removing any dead trees that have the potential to fall into the ditch.  They will burn, bury, or shred and mulch all woody material.

Three companies offered bids for the maintenance work; Beaver Excavating of Plymouth was the low bidder at $13,900.  Other bidders were LI Excavating of Warsaw at $22,890 and Langfeldt Excavating of Plymouth with a bid of $14,600. 

The Marshall County Drainage Board awarded the Stock Heston Ditch Maintenance project to Beaver Excavating.  The completion date is April 17, 2023.
