BOURBON – The Triton Junior High football team held their home opener Tuesday night falling to Casino 41-7.
Eighth grader Ryder Gayheart decided he wasn’t going down without a fight as he returned a 71-yard kick-off return for a touchdown and 7th grader Brady Wood caught a quick outlet PAT reception from Ryder Goodman for the extra point to make it 14-7.
The momentum stayed with Caston going into halftime as Triton struggled to find a defensive identity, giving up 4 touchdowns in the first half as the final score was 41-7 Caston.
Ryder Gayheart had 115 all-purpose yards, 1 TD, and 5 tackles. Brady Wood had 102 rushing yards, 1 PAT reception, and 4 tackles.
