The Marshall County Council on Aging Meals on Wheels program along with Breathe Easy Marshall County, Project Hope, 525 Foundation, and Garden Courts have collaborated together to give each resident and Meals on Wheels client an easy way to dispose of unwanted medications.

Safe disposal of controlled substances, unused and unwanted medication play a major role in protecting our community and environment. The pouches are very simple to use for our senior and disabled citizens.

The medication pouches were provided by 525 Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness among teens and families about alcohol and prescription drug misuse and abuse.

Annette Haining, Tobacco Education Coordinator for Marshall County provided the labels and assisted with the delivery of the pouches to Garden Courts.

If anyone is interested in having medication disposable pouches, please contact Annette Haining, Tobacco Education Coordinator for Marshall County at Saint Joseph Medical System Plymouth at 574-948-4988.
