Yolanda Roush, 92, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Born on September 22, 1929, in South Bend, Yolanda was the daughter of Alex and Julia (Rebics) Arch. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1947.
On July 1, 1950, she married Kenneth L. Roush in the “new” Our Lady of Hungary Church in South Bend.
In 1972, Yolanda and Kenneth tried a retail venture, but were back in South Bend by June 1973. On July 1, 1975, they moved to the old Paul Hiss farm at Lincoln Hwy and Pine Road.
She was a loving wife and mother to their four children. When the kids were all grown and out of the house, Yolanda went to work for her son, Roy Michael Roush, as a receptionist at his law firm in Plymouth. She would retire after 15 years in 1991. Yolanda was a devout member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she was part of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Marshall County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by four of her five children: Kenneth J. (Eileen) and their son, Robert (Amy) Roush and their children Casey, Callahan, and Julia, and their daughter, Kiersten (Justin) Doheny and their son, Justin “Teddy” all of Rochester, New York; Kathy Ann (Steve) Smitha and their son, Zebediah (Anne) Smitha, and their children, Norah, Bridget, Olivia, William “Liam” and Penelope “Penny”; their son, Roy Michael and daughter, Jean (Dee Copeland). She is also survived by sister Margaret Smigielski.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2021, a daughter, Susan Marie, her parents, son-in-law Gary Richey and siblings: Mary Piller and Alex Arch Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. with Fr. Spenser St. Louis.
Burial will take place in the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Plymouth.
