PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Rockies hosted the Concord Minutemen on Wednesday night in the last NLC dual of the year and took a win by a final of 72-8.
Plymouth started the evening off by recognizing the local youth wrestling club followed by the recognition of seniors for Senior night. Those Seniors were 132 lb Nate Derifield, 160 lb Bradey Pittman, 170 lb Zach Truitt, 195 lb Sal Rhoads, and 220 lb Pedro Miranda.
The action kicked off at 113 lbs with Plymouth freshman Braxton White receiving a forfeit. Concord edged out a decision win at 120 lbs making the score 6-3. Freshman Chris Firebaugh, came out aggressive to score a fall for Plymouth at 126 lbs.
Concord forfeited 132 lbs to senior Nate Derifield. sophomores Wesley Smith (138), Seth Wright (145), and Caydn Smith (152) all earned a stick running the score up to 36-3. Junior Tony Klotz took a forfeit at 160 lbs for Plymouth. Senior Bradey Pittman scored a late pin after a dominant performance at 170 lbs, followed by Junior Matt McCrum with a stick at 182 lbs.
Concord followed up with a Tech Fall at 195 lbs to make the score 54-8. Senior Pedro Miranda made a late comeback to earn a pin at 220 lbs. Sophomore Anthony Popi earned a fall at 285 lbs followed by a forfeit at 106 lbs for Alonzo Chantea.
