PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Rockies Soccer team played a physical non-conference game against the LaPorte Slicers Monday night in sweltering heat conditions taking an 8-1 win.

The Rockies opened their account for the night through #7 Selvin Pagoada. The score at halftime would be 3-1 after goals by Jose Rosas and Sidney Melendez.

The Slicers came out with a renewed zest in the second half and placed the Rockies under pressure but the Rockies hunkered down and used their counter-attacking speed to net five more second-half goals.

Byron Jimenez, Selvin Pagoada, Ivan Turcious, Miguel Contreras, and Diego Zelaya all netted for the hungry Rockies.

These goals were a perfect ending for the Senior Rockies and their Senior night. Plymouth is away to Conference arch-rivals Warsaw Tigers this Thursday, August 26. Plymouth’s record currently stands at 1-0-1. The Rockies look to continue their winning ways and continue to improve their play with the game against the Tigers starting at 7 p.m.
