County News # 1The Marshall County Highway Department will be selling equipment to the public in a sealed bid process.  Sealed bids will be accepted at the Highway Department, 9675 King Road until 2:00 p.m., on Thursday April 29th.

Items being sold include: two 6405 John Deere Tractors with side mount mowers and a TS 100 New Holland Tractor with side mount mower.  Highway Superintendent Jason Peters said the mowers were running when the 2020 mowing season was completed, and they were parked.

The County Highway Department also has a T-6020 New Holland Tractor with brush chopping boom attachment.  Peters said the tractor will not move forward or back, it runs and the hydraulics for mower work.

Also, up for sale is an Econoline Tandem Trailer 12-ton Backhoe Pro, a 1984 Ford 1-ton pickup 2-wheel drive, a 1995 Chevy 1500 pickup, a 1999 Ford Ranger and three Dodge Dakota’s (2002-2005)

The equipment will be available for inspecting at the Marshall County Highway Department from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 26th through Thursday, April 29th. (No Saturday or Sunday viewing)

All Bids must be submitted by April 29th, no bid will be accepted after 2:00 p.m. All sealed bids will be opened Monday, May 3rd during the Board of Commissioners meeting. If awarded, it will be to the highest responsible bidder.   Bidders will be contacted if awarded.  Payment for equipment will be cashier’s check or money order: (NO PERSONAL CHECKS) Payment will be made out to the Marshall County Treasurer.  The Marshall County Highway Department and or Board of Commissioners has the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The equipment is sold “as is, where is” without any warranties. Equipment will come with extra parts that are in the highway department’s inventory for that particular piece equipment. Equipment must be picked up 12 hours after award, payment is due before equipment is picked up.
