Last week members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission were updated on the manufacturing center being built at the corner of Pioneer and Jim Neu Drive, in front of the Marshall County Correctional Facility.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi said Majority Builders, contractors for the project ran into a snag when the wrong size trusses were delivered to the site.  He said it will take about three weeks for the new ones that are the right size to be delivered to the site.

Commission member Billy Ellinger asked who was overseeing the project and Surrisi said Laura Walls, the new Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and the Executive Committee are keeping an eye on the construction.  When asked if she had a background in construction Surrisi said no but she has worked on other development projects.

Commission member Nancy Felde asked if they were marketing the new building yet and Surrisi said they are having serious discussions with one prospect and there are a couple others who are taking a serious look at the building.

The manufacturing center project is just over $2 million and is 43,000 square feet and expandable to over 100,000 square feet.
