corona virus updateThe Indiana Department of Health Sunday announced that 1,764 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 639,711 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus.

On Sunday the State Department of Health reported 23 new positive cases of the coronavirus in the county with no new deaths.  The death total in Marshall County remains at 97.  52 new individuals were rested bringing the total tested in the county to 22,774.  The 7-day positivity rate for all tests is 4.8% while the 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals is 21.3%.

Hoosiers age 65 and older, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents and first responders who are regularly called to the scene of an emergency to render medical assistance, are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. As of Sunday, 694,945 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 216,389 are fully vaccinated.
