COVID-19 Public Health Disaster emergencyOn Monday, during the Marshall County Commissioner’s meeting the commissioners extended the Public Health Disaster Emergency Declaration for seven more days.

The declaration allows the commissioners and County Health Officer, Dr. Byron Holm to implement any necessary emergency protections for the citizens of Marshall County due to COVID-19.

The declaration requests that citizens comply with emergency measures and follow any directives county officials implement.

This is the 8th consecutive week the commissioners have enacted the Emergency Declaration.  This declaration will be in effect until Tuesday, December 15.

Kevin Overmyer, President of the Marshall County Commissioners asked the media to stress that the commissioners make the decisions to enact the Emergency Declaration and that they are the ones who enacted the ordinance requiring residents to wear a mask when out in public, not the County Health Department.
