Clay for Cancer WSOI 2020The Weidner School of Inquiry’s BioArt class will host the 8th annual Clay For Cancer night at Plymouth High School on Monday, March 2. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and the final call for final bids will be at 6:30 p.m.

Close to 100 first-year students in Haley Church and Laura Unsicker’s BioArt classes will be taking part in this year’s event. Each student has been busy since the year started crafting a one-of-a-kind clay piece of art that will be available for bid by silent auction during the hour-long event. Throughout the second semester, students have been studying various types of cancers in more than 20 groups and preparing gallery-style presentations on the specific type of cancer they have been researching.

All proceeds raised during this year’s event will be donated to the Cancer Association of Marshall County. In the past seven years, this important event has raised more than $6,000 through artwork sales.

Please note WSOI staff organizers ask if you plan on bidding on artwork this year, please plan on bringing cash or check. Those attending the auction, please enter PHS through the north entrance – door #5.

We have all been affected by cancer, whether through friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, — or even personally. Please join WSOI staff and students for the 8th annual Clay for Cancer event this Monday.
