Plymouth Color Logo2014Plymouth City Engineer Rick Gaul gave members of the Redevelopment Commission an update on the Hoham Drive improvement project during their meeting Tuesday evening.

All the contracts have been submitted to INDOT for the project.  Work continues with NIPSCO to use a piece of their property on Hoham to place a drainage retention pond for the project.  Initially plans were to use the pond at the front of their property but engineering would like to move the pond from the front yard to area behind the switch station.

The City has submitted the right of entry agreement to conduct soil borings for the drainage project on the NIPSCO property and they are still waiting for a response back.

The City Engineer also gave Redevelopment Commission members a brief update on the Pioneer Drive improvement project.   They are finalizing the drainage and ditch design with more details for the construction plans.  After this portion is complete they will begin checking if any utilities need to be relocated.

Contract documents for Pioneer Drive were sent out about 2 weeks ago

Commission Member Mike Miley asked if consideration was taken for future development in that area for the drainage design or do they just consider the project.

Gaul said INDOT has enough space in their pond to bring in the additional drainage because of the minimal amount of additional hard surface that is being added.  He also said that each additional project that grows in that area would be responsible for their own drainage plan.
