The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for northern Indiana that will go into effect beginning at 4pm (EST) this afternoon and remain in effect until 10am (EST) Thursday morning. The forecast is 3 to 4 inches of snow with the possibility of slightly higher amounts in some areas.
Roads will be snow covered slick and hazardous for the overnight hours on Wednesday and into early Thursday morning. This could potentially lead to an increase in slide-offs and traffic accidents.
Drivers are urges to slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Drivers should also increase their following distance, drive defensively and be aware of the increased potential for hazardous road conditions due to icy conditions and snow.
