On Sunday, February 2nd at approximately 10:00 P.M. Marshall County Sheriff’s Officer Ayala responded to the 400 block of French Street in Tyner in reference to a male and female involved in a physical altercation. Arriving on the scene Officer Ayala located 21 year old, Alex R. Rhodes of Bremen in a camper at the residence with his daughter. Rhodes was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked on Domestic Battery in the presence of a minor and or a child and Domestic Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a pregnant female and held on a $1,505 bond. Due to the Nature of the charges Rhodes was held on a 24 hour mandatory hold prior to being eligible to post bond. He was released the next day after posting bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
