auto_theftMonday night, December 16th, Sergeant Nicholas Laffoon with the Marshall County Police Department observed a vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed just before 10.

The vehicle was clocked at 106 mph. After catching up to the vehicle a traffic stop was performed on U.S. 31 south of 12th Road.

MugShot_jeremiah dockeryDuring the traffic stop it was found that the offender, 19 year old Jeremiah D. Dockery of South Bend had been operating the vehicle during this incident. Further investigation at the scene also determined that the vehicle was reported as stolen from St. Joseph County.

Dockery was detained at the scene and later lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Auto Theft and Reckless Driving.  He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
