Last week the Marshall County Solid Waste Management District Board of Directors was updated by Director Marianne Peters on possible violations of the county ordinance on curbside recycling by Superior Disposal Service of North Judson.
The legal opinion from their attorney, Ken Lukenbill suggested a violation existed and a “Notice of Violation” should be issued to the company before taking legal action.
Peters told the board of directors she recently discovered that Apex Waste Services has purchased Superior Waste and they are no longer in business.
The County Solid Waste Executive Director will make contact with Apex Waste and certify that they have purchased Superior Waste. She will also introduce herself and send them a copy of the county’s ordinance requiring curbside recycling by any waste hauler working in the county.
