MugShot_john popi 11-09-19On Saturday, November 9th, around 2:00 a.m. Officer Ayala with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop in the area of Michigan Road and 5A Road.

29 year old John Popi of Plymouth was found to be driving the vehicle. Officer Ayala offered Popi the opportunity to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.

Following the testing, John Popi was transported to the Plymouth Hospital for a chemical test.  Later on, he was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked and lodged for: Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated .15% or higher, Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-Controlled Substance and Possession of Controlled Substance. John Popi was given a bond of $1,500 and a court date.
