Plymouth Color Logo2014The city of Plymouth will hold their regular meetings beginning at 6 p.m. with the Board of Public Works and Safety. They are expected to award the demolition bid of Langfeldt Excavating for the property at 400 East Jefferson Street.

Board members will hear reports from the various department heads and the Board of Works will hear a report on the alley request at 400 North Michigan Street, the First United Methodist Church with member Mike Stump.

City Engineer Rick Gaul will request permission to seek bids for the 2019 Street and Sidewalk Community Crossing projects while the city attorney will present an intergovernmental agreement regarding the Quality of Life Plan and the Marshall County Crossroads Stellar Communities Initiative.

The board will hear requests for street closures for the PIDCO railroad repairs, a closure of West Jefferson Street for the Veteran’s Day ceremony and a closure of Michigan Street for the Holiday Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting.

The Common Council meets at 6:30 and will conduct a public hearing on the Tax Abatement request of AK Industries and consider a resolution confirming the declaration of the real estate to be within an economic revitalization area.

The Council will also consider a resolution allowing the Pilot News to participate in the commercial revitalization rebate grant program.

The city meetings are open to the public although comments and questions are limited to agenda items only.
