CourthouseKevin Overmyer, President of the Marshall County Commissioners opened Monday’s meeting taking time to thank former Commissioner Mike Delp for his service to the citizens of Marshall County after serving nearly three years and the residents of Plymouth for his service on the City Council.

Overmyer then motioned to have Commissioner Stan Klotz serve as Vice President of the Commissioners, replacing Delp who had held that position.

During Monday’s meeting the commissioners opened Requests for Qualifications for architects for the Court House Clock Tower Restoration project.

Former County Commissioner and local Architect Kurt Garner has been working on this project since he was a commissioner.  He now serves at the principal investigator for the project and attended the meeting on Monday to receive the RFQ’s.

Ratio Architects, Roland Design and Wiss, Janney Elstner Associates all from Indianapolis submitted their qualifications.  Garner noted that all three are qualified by the state.   The commissioners will review the information presented and rank the companies on the information provided and sent their rankings to Garner hopefully be the end of the week.

Garner said once an architect has been selected the county will negotiate a contract for the project.  He said he’s hoping to have the project ready for contract by the first commissioner meeting in November.

It was also noted that Commissioner Overmyer will serve as the commissioner on this project, it was one that Delp had been serving on.
